
With a banking career spanning nearly three decades, Richard Akin Oshungboye has held leadership positions across five of Nigeria’s leading banks, where he championed innovations in consumer and product development, agent banking, and technology-driven financial inclusion. He played a pivotal role in launching the MoneyGram Money Transfer initiative with United Bank for Africa (UBA) and later led the design and implementation of Sterling Bank’s Agent Banking model, which expanded access to financial services for underbanked and rural communities across Nigeria.
Beyond the private sector, Richard has continued to serve in the public sphere through strategic leadership roles within the Lagos State Government, where he has contributed to key initiatives in governance, budgeting, and institutional development.
He holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and an MBA from the Federal University of Technology, Minna. He has also completed numerous professional development programs both locally and internationally.
